This Tuesday is the next race of the GLCL road series, being held at The Olive Tree, Cwmbran, NP44 2JJ and starting at 7:30pm.
Car parking is very limited at The Olive Tree and will be prioritised for race officials and organisers, therefore you are requested to use one of the other free car parks close by; Cwmbran Station, 5 mins walk, Morrisons Supermarket (note 3 hour limit), 5 mins walk, Cwmbran town centre, 10 min. walk.
For those not racing the GLCL, Eddie and Sue will deliver one session on the Leisure Centre field, starting at 6:30pm.
Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training levels.
Coach Eddie says: 'A session which lets you try VO2 Max level pace for a brief time.
Hopefully 5 x 600 where the first 400m will be a build up to Threshold, (level 1 quickly to level 2), then 100m increasing pace to 90% and finally 100m at 95% (level 3 which is 2 word job).
Start each rep across the field and take as much rest as you need before starting the next rep ( no less than 2 mins). 2 lap warm up with strides before rep 1. Eddie and Sue will keep you right.
Juniors
All track sessions are suitable for Harriers Juniors aged 14 and over. A parent must remain present on the field throughout, but there is no requirement to run together. Speak to Steve Dilley and Eddie or Sue prior to the session if you intend to bring a junior.
Thursday 06 July
This Thursday is our Tintern Trot race, starting at 7:30pm, where you can help, or run, or help and run.
For those not involved in Tintern Trot, Thursday's run is 3 Woods, meet in the lower Leisure Centre carpark at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start. MC is TBC. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk.
After the run will be tea/coffee and biscuits in the Leisure Centre bar.
Respiratory Infections
You are asked to not to attend Harriers training or events if you have symptoms, or are advised to self isolate in accordance with Welsh guidelines.
