Tuesday 23 August
This week's session is Paarlauf on the Leisure Centre track, with Dick & Paul at 6:15pm and Sue & Bethan at 7:00pm. You should warm up for at least 10 minutes prior to the session start time, either on the way to the track or around the school field when you arrive.
Coach Dick says: 'You will need to find a partner of roughly similar pace to share fast relay surges of 200 metres on opposite sides of the track accompanied by a slow walk/jog recovery across the middle of the track.
Make sure you’ve done a 10 minute warm-up jog before lining up for either the 6.15 or the 7 o’clock session. We’ll then be doing some sharpening-up drills to bring us up to speed for the 200 metre bursts at Threshold pace alternating with a jog/walk recovery. We will have 2 sets of 15 & 12 minutes with a 3 minute active recovery between sets.
We will follow with a warm down lap, some static stretches and a Review of the session'.
A Performance Session will also take place on the track starting at 6:30pm. These sessions are open to club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.
Thursday 25 August
Thursday's run is Wye Valley Walk - Porthcasseg. Meet in the lower Leisure Centre at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start, where Tom is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk.
After the run is tea/coffee and biscuits in the Leisure Centre bar, do please join us for a drink and a chat.
