Harriers Training - w/c 27 June

Tuesday 28 June

This week's session is 400s on the Leisure Centre track, with Eddie & Paul at 6:15pm and James & Neil at 7:00pm. You should warm up for at least 10 minutes prior to the session start time, either on the way to the track or around the school field when you arrive.

Coach Eddie says: '400 intervals, perfect distance for speed endurance but this week it’s about pace judgement at a speed faster than your current 5k PB.

Let’s say your best time is 30 mins, choose 29 mins and work out a 400m time for that. For 29 mins it would be 2mins 20 secs.

Session is 8 x 400 ( 6 if it suits you better ) with an active rest ( walk / jog ) of 90 secs – 2 mins for the quickies or 2 mins – 3 mins if you’re doing 6.

Warm up before the session, sort your buddy group then 2 laps and get your various exercises done and look to start 1st 400 before 6:25. See you there'.

Thursday 30 June

Thursday's run is the social from Newchurch Farm Shop NP16 6DD, which is about 20 minutes from Chepstow; either go via Devauden, or take the Usk road by Spar and turn right at Gaer Llywd crossroads. Meet at Newchurch at 6:45pm.

There will be a choice of shorter run, a longer run, or a walk. The shorter run will be around 5k on a mix of roads and trails, with one steep climb - trail shoes and covered legs are advised. The longer run will likely be around 10k on small lanes.

More details will follow.

To allow numbers to be planned for, please let either Anne or Clare know if you are attending by midday on Wednesday.

There is no tea / coffee in the leisure centre this week.

COVID-19

You are asked to not to attend Harriers training or events if you have symptoms, or are advised to self isolate in accordance with Welsh guidelines.
