Tuesday 22 February
This week's session is Thornwell Loops, with James & Jo at 6:00pm, and Kevin & Lindsey 7:00pm. Meet on Denbigh Drive, opposite the Tesco Express carpark by the walkthrough to Garvey Close. Either warm up with a jog down, or arrive early enough to warm up before the session starts.
Coach Kevin says:
'5 x laps for groups A/B/C, 4 x laps for groups D/E, 3 x laps for groups F,G,H.
Garvey Close can be used for the active recovery. Slight variation on the theme this time, clockwise with steady start then a 5K effort up the hill to the roundabout then steady 10k effort until you return to Garvey Close. Try to maintain consistent effort on the flat after the initial climb. Practise relaxed running with good technique on the climb and then practise pace judgement on the flat as advised by the coach. Take a look at your times every lap and chat with group to decide if your pace judgement is OK'.
High viz is mandatory for winter sessions. Head torches will not be needed as the loop is well lit. Please do think about whether you will need a head torch on the way to and home from the session however.
In order to allow James and Kevin to plan the best session for attendees, you are requested to register if you plan to come, giving your name and pace group only. Registration is not compulsory however, and details will not be retained following the session.
