Harriers Training - w/c 21 August

Tuesday 22 August

Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training levels.

This week's session is the 400s on the Leisure Centre track, at 6:15pm & 7:00pm. Both sessions will be coached by James and Sarah.

Coach Sarah says: 'Please arrive warmed up, or allowing enough time to jog a couple of laps before the session.

You will run 400m or a lap of the track, with a walking recovery period of 90 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your fitness. Faster runners should aim for 10 x 400, less fast runners for 8 x 400.

To mix things up there is the option to alternate speed on the 400s, so the first 400 would be at 5k pace, and the next would be progressive with 200 at the same speed building to a slightly faster pace for the remaining 200. These would be alternated so laps 1,3,5,7,9 would be at an even pace and laps 2,4,6,8,10 with the progressive effort.

This is an optional addition and we will explain this again on the night'.

All track sessions are suitable for Harriers Juniors aged 14 and over. A parent must remain present on the field throughout, but there is no requirement to run together. Speak to Steve Dilley and Sarah or James prior to the session if you intend to bring a junior.
