Harriers Training - w/c 17 July

Vests

You will have seen an email sent 12 July about proposed new club running vests. Mike will bring samples to training on Tuesday and to the Handicap on Thursday, so you can see them and help decide if you would like to order one.

Tuesday 18 July

Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training levels.

This week's session is 800s on the Leisure Centre track, at 6:15pm & 7:00pm. Both sessions will be coached by James and Lindsey.

Coach James says: 'The session is 5 x 800m, as follows: 400 @ 5km pace + 400 @ 3km pace, with 2 minutes active rest. This change in pace will help with your pace judgement, and simulates race conditions with a strong finish.

If you've done this session before, take a look at your times if you have access to them. How was your pace judgement, and what could you improve? Did you have a clear difference in pace between your first and second laps? The aim is to complete the session with a consistent effort and good form'.

Juniors

All track sessions are suitable for Harriers Juniors aged 14 and over. A parent must remain present on the field throughout, but there is no requirement to run together. Speak to Steve Dilley and James or Lindsey prior to the session if you intend to bring a junior.

Performance Session

A Performance Session will take place on the Leisure Centre track, starting at 6:30pm. Eddie will deconflict the session with James and Lindsey before the evening, and use the outer lanes if necessary. Performance sessions are open to all club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.

Thursday 20 July

This Thursday is the third race in the Handicap Series in Chepstow Park Woods. Parking is at Chepstow Park Wood Car Park which is limited, so please park sensibly and car share where possible. There is additional parking a short walk away at Fedw Wood Car Park.
