Tuesday 18 April
Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training levels.
This week's session is Pyramids on the Leisure Centre field, at 6:15pm and 7:00pm. Both sessions will be coached by Sue and Lindsey.
Coach Lindsey says: 'Meet on the track fully warmed up (at least 10 mins) for the start of the sessions at either 6:15 or 7:00.
The aim of Pyramids is to practice your pacing. You’ll be doing a mix of 200s, 400s and 800s, split into two sets - with 90 secs active recovery between intervals and 3 minutes between sets. For example, faster runners might do 400/800/400/200 then 200/400/800/400/200 but the coaches will adjust the session for individual runners to ensure you get the most out of the session in the time available.
Try and run at a consistent effort throughout the session, ideally equivalent to level 3 so you should be only able to say a few words. Remember, this means your pace will be different dependent on the internal distance'.
Juniors
All track sessions are suitable for Harriers Juniors aged 14 and over. A parent must remain present on the field throughout, but there is no requirement to run together. Speak to Steve Dilley and Sue or Lindsey prior to the session if you intend to bring a junior.
Performance Session
A Performance Session will take place on the Leisure Centre track, starting at 6:30pm. Eddie will deconflict the session with Sue & Lindsey before the evening, and use the outer lanes if necessary. Performance sessions are open to all club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.
Thursday 20 April
Thursday's run is 3 Woods, meet in the lower Leisure Centre carpark at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start. Neil is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk.
