Please note hi-viz is mandatory for all sessions
Tuesday 29 November
Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training zones.
This week's session is Elm Road, with Sue & Neil at 6:15pm, and John & Kelly at 7:00pm. Meet at the junction of Elm Road and Gloucester Road.
Coach Sue says 'The start is at the Gloucester Road end of Elm Road, with parking at Elm Close. You should allow 10 mins of running to warm up, either by running there or after you arrive.
In the 30-minute session, run as many of the 400 (approx.) metres lengths of the road as you can fit in at Zone 3 effort (you should just about be able to say a couple of words). As a guide A/B runners should manage 12 with the other groups slightly less. Each effort starts downhill followed by uphill to the finish, try to keep consistent effort throughout. Think about your running technique, how it should change for the up and downhill parts of the effort.
Recovery is about 75 seconds; keep moving, there will be a recovery area at each end.
High-viz is mandatory. Head torches will not be needed, especially as runners will be facing each other during the session, but look out for vehicles pulling in and out of property. Please also think about whether you will need a head torch on the way to and home from the session'.
Performance Session
A Performance Session will take place on the Leisure Centre track starting at 6:15pm. These sessions are open to all club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.
Thursday 01 December
Thursday's run is the Severn Bridge. Meet in the underpass at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start, where Helen is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a 5 mile tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk. Hi-vis is mandatory. Head torches will be necessary if you are running all the way around the bridge, at the Aust Services section. You may also want a head torch for the path down into the underpass.
After the run is tea/coffee and biscuits in the Leisure Centre bar, do please join us for a drink and a chat.
