Harriers Training - w/c 14 November

Please note hi-viz is mandatory for all sessions

Tuesday 15 November

Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training zones.

This week's session is Danes Loops, with Berna & Bethan at 6:15pm, and Dick & Berna at 7:00pm. Meet outside Chepstow Leisure Centre for briefing and designated group pace banding. We will then jog to the start of the loop on Huntfield  Avenue with one lap to warm up.

Coach Berna says 'Runners will be running in their pace groups anti-clockwise. The loop starts at the top of Huntfield Road and takes in Lancaster Lane and the playground steps and ends at the top of Kingsmark Avenue (810m) with an active recovery/ regroup along Kingsmark Lane (240m). The session is 30 minutes long.

The session focuses on technical elements of hill climbing and relaxed downhill running to build strength, stamina and endurance.

The playground steps onto Kingsmark Avenue are run by the runner bounding up with minimal ground contact to provide a plyometric element.

Warm/Cool Down by jogging back to the Leisure centre and  doing static stretches'.

A headtorch will be required for the park section. Please ensure you run on the pavement.

Performance Session

A separate Performance Session may also take place. These sessions are open to all club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.

Thursday's run is Boughsprings. Meet in the lower Leisure Centre carpark at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start, where Paul is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk. Hi-vis is mandatory and you will require a headtorch.
