Harriers Training - w/c 12 September

Tuesday 13 September

This week's session is 800s on the Leisure Centre track, with Dick & Kelly at 6:15pm, and Dick & Neil at 7:00pm. You should warm up for at least 10 minutes prior to the session start time, either on the way to the track or around the school field when you arrive.

Coach Dick says: 'We invite you to run 30 minutes’ worth of 800 metres on the track. In your speed groups take turns to lead the first lap at just below threshold pace, and the second at full threshold speed with the option of speeding up to a fast finish at the final bend cone.

For your active recovery, decide whether you’ll take 90 seconds or a maximum 2 minutes.

Make sure you’ve warmed up for at least 10 minutes before your start time when the Leader will take you on a lap of drills.

Then a lap’s warm down before a review chat and static stretches'.

A Performance Session will also take place on the track starting at 6:30pm, using lane 4. These sessions are open to club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.

Thursday 15 September

Thursday's run is Bayfields to Great Barnets & St Pierre. Meet in the lower Leisure Centre at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start, where Helen is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk.

After the run is tea/coffee and biscuits in the Leisure Centre bar, do please join us for a drink and a chat.

COVID-19

You are asked to not to attend Harriers training or events if you have symptoms, or are advised to self isolate in accordance with Welsh guidelines.

Enjoy your running.

Dickie.
