Harriers Training - w/c 20 December

Tuesday 21 December

Coach Sue says 'Tuesday training this week is Elm Road, With Sue & Paul at 6pm, and James & Stuart at 7pm.

Elm road is about 400m long and consists of a short downhill, followed by a longer uphill and the reverse on the way back. Each effort is followed by a 1min active recovery. The session will last for 30 mins

The aim of the session is to improve your speed endurance and you should aim to be in Zone 2, which is about 10km pace. Focus on maintaining good form especially when you are fatigued towards the end of the interval.

We will be going straight into running at speed, so please arrive well warmed up ideally 20 mins of running with a few speed spurts

Remember High Viz is essential and any other lights that make it easier for cars to see you. Head torches are not needed and can cause a problem for runners coming towards you.

Elm Road is in Tutshill and we will meet at the junction of Elm Road and Gloucester Road, there is parking in Elm Close adjacent to the start'.

In order to allow Sue and James to plan the best session for attendees, you are requested to register if you plan to come, giving your name and pace group only. Registration is not compulsory however, and details will not be retained following the session.

Thursday 23 December

Thursday's run is a choice of Mathern with MC Al, or a walk / jog around Chepstow with Helen. Meet in the lower Leisure Centre carpark at 6:45pm. Please ensure you wear high vis, and bring a  head torch.

This will be followed by drinks and nibbles at the Buckley's; please see the email sent 17 December for full details and information on how to register your attendance.

Please help protect everyone; do not attend if you are suffering any illness symptoms, and please do a Lateral Flow Test before you come.

Enjoy your running, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Dickie.
