Harriers Training - w/c 09 January

Please note hi-viz is mandatory for all sessions

Tuesday 10 January

Please read these details carefully as it will save time on the night. Use the links below for information on time bands and training levels.

Tuesday's session is Elm Road, with Sarah & John at 6:15pm, and Sarah & Paul at 7:00pm. Meet at the junction of Elm Road and Gloucester Road.

Coach Sarah says: 'On Tuesday evening we will be at Elm Road, Tutshill (Gloucester Road end) for a half hour session of approximately 400m efforts with 90 second recoveries.

Please arrive warmed up and ready to run. If you are running from the leisure centre a head torch is advisable. All runners must be wearing high-vis and reflective gear. Please be aware of traffic on Elm Road, particularly cars reversing off drives. Also be respectful of residents when running and parking there.

You will be running the length of Elm Road in both directions, with a recovery at the end of each length. Either way, you will start downhill and finish uphill. When running uphill concentrate on your form, keeping your head and knees high, and using your arms to drive you forwards.

Aim to run each length at the same pace,  so that you finish the session as strongly as you start. If you are wanting to push yourself harder, consider reducing the length of your recoveries. We will discuss this on the night.

See you there!'

High-viz is mandatory and you will require a head-torch.

Performance Session

A Performance Session will take place on the Leisure Centre track starting at 6:15pm. These sessions are open to all club members, and are of particular use to those who are targeting a particular race or PB. Speak directly to Eddie if you think they would benefit your training plan.

Thursday 12 January

Thursday's run is Boughsprings. Meet in the lower Leisure Centre carpark at 6:35pm for a 6:45pm start, where Helen is MC and will get you into in your groups. You may choose a tempo or more social run, a 45 minute out and back run, or a walk. Hi-vis is mandatory and you will require a head-torch.

After the run is tea/coffee and biscuits in the Leisure Centre bar, do please join us for a drink and a chat.
