Time Trial Cancelled

We regret that weather conditions have caused us to cancel tonight's Severn Bridge Time Trial.
The weather people have forecast that the strong gale force winds will ease by the evening, but will still be bad enough when combined with the heavy rain.
We will instead put on the Beech Grove paarlauf. This will start at 7.20 on the corner of Beech Grove and Larkfield Avenue, just up the Grove from the Athletic Club in Bulwark.
Apologies to those disappointed. The human turn-round bollard may not be so disappointed.

The Week Ahead 25 January 2016

Storm Desmond may upset our plans for the monthly 5k Time Trial on the Severn Bridge on Tuesday evening. If driven inland, we'll post an alternative session. Watch this space.

Desmond should have cleared off by Thursday's Hayesgate run.

Have a good week.

The Week Ahead 18 January 2016

Just pop round the corner for the Danes Loop on Tuesday. A good session with some tough climbing but some fast legwork on the long downhill.

Remember you've got a free entry to the Rogue Runs' night race on Thursday. Race HQ is the Racecourse. Pre-enter in the LC Bar on Tuesday before the Danes session if you can, or get to the Racecourse on Thursday in plenty of time for the 7.15 start.

And finally, the first Club Championship race of the year on Saturday at 2pm. A nice hill race just north of Cardiff. See the CC page on our website for further info.

The Week Ahead 11 Jan 2016

Back to Thornwell on Tuesday for the celebrated Loop (do I hear a hearty Hurrah!? No perhaps not)

If you’re going straight there be  ready to run soon after 7.20. Make sure you warm up well while waiting for those running down from the Leis Ctre, and keep a warm top on till your group are  ready to start. And have that reflective top on when you do start.

Thursday's jaunt is the Sedbury run.
And finally, if you're going to the Awards Dinner on Saturday, don't forget it's traditional to buy the poor careworn coaches a nice drink...

The Week Ahead 4 Jan 2016

Berna is January's coach and offers us 5 x 800 metres up & down the Link Road on Tuesday. Speed and endurance on a good surface with a slight slope will be excellent training.

Thursday's run takes us to St Arvans and Porthcasseg and onwards to Penterry. Quiet paths and country lanes.

And finally, once more unto the B(re)ach dear friends, once more. The third Leisure Centre League XC at Parc Bryn Bach on Sunday. Meet at 9 at our LC steps, and get to the Parc in time to jog the course in the unfamiliar clockwise direction.

LCL XC Parc Bryn Bach

Next Sunday (10th) is the 3rd LCL XC at Parc Bryn Bach

The race starts at 11.00

The PBB address is:
Parc Bryn Bach,
Merthyr Rd,

Approx 1.5 miles per lap, so 4.5m and 6m for each sex

The course (same as September, but in the reverse direction):

The visitor centre has showers, toilets, changing and a cafe!

We need to have at least 20 men and women there (40 total) to fill A, B, and C teams!
