Sunday Cycle Rides

Dates for organised rides in October below. I have given some outline details of the style of ride and will confirm these nearer the dates for entry on your blog.

02.10.11 - Intermediate style ride around 35 miles at a steady pace, possible down to Usk via Shirenewton and back up over Llangwm. Usk would be a good re-grouping point and a half way staging point if any riders wanted to go on and get some extra miles in, I will take participants back to Chepstow from Usk. This would be a similar ride in style to the one that we did around Newport, Redwick and Bishton in August but with more challenging terrain.

Proposing to meet at 9.00 at St Lawrence, back in Chepstow around 12.30 - 13.00

09.10.11 (provisional date at this stage) - Group ride, looking to head out to Frampton on Severn with a coffee stop somewhere on route. Looking to use the Sustrans routes around Oldbury to get out to Frampton. This would be edging towards the 50 mile mark in terms of distance again with a steady pace.

Proposing to meet at 8.30 at St Lawrence

October - December is traditionally the close season for cycling and rides tend to be steadier and lower in distance especially this side of December with the emphasis on social/group riding. I will reflect this in the rides that I set up but will include some longer ones from time to time. Distance then builds gradually from December onwards in preparation of the start of a new season towards the begining of March.

Happy for anyone to contact me if they need some more details.
