LCL Prizegiving and Cross-Country

Congrats to all the runners and teams who won trophies at the presentation after the first LCL cross-country at Chepstow today.

Thanks to Martyn and Jeanette for all their work throughout the season, and for organizing the trophies and the prize-giving.

And thanks to all the Chepstow home-bakers who provided the delicious range of cakes and cookies.

The race itself was well attended and many runners commended the excellent course round Piercefield Park. Well done to James Blore and his assistants, Vanessa and Lou, for a demanding and well-marked course.

And a special thanks to John Thomas, Jane and Geoff Bayliss for helping check the course this morning, even though they weren’t running themselves. And thanks to Andy and Sue Ost in charge of the crèche.

Syd did a brilliant job at the finish with Martyn, and there seemed to be a record number of supporters cheering us round.

  1. Hi Chepstow;
    Great course the best for a few years,well done all the guys concerned, just a shame everyone ran well except me.Jac and I would like to apologise for not attending the prize-giving we left a multitude af visitors to fend for themselves and had to race back to take them out for lunch[pre-booked]I hope someone rescued some cake as I badly need the carbs.
    Thanks Phil [the slug] Miles.

  2. Thanks for kind words Phil - you may not have run to your usual high standard but I see from the provisional results that you were still first in your age group, as usual.

    Commiserations to Jackie. I saw her limping off the course. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

    We have kept some cakes for you two - we'll bring 'em along to Pontllanfraith on 28th!
